After obtaining the dimensions of the pylon space you wish to utilize, give yourself a border of at least a few inches on the sides and a minimum of 1 inch from the top and bottom.  For example, if your opening is 12 inches by 60 inches, I would recommend a 10 inch letter with all letters equaling the total of 54 inches . ( 1 inch from the top and bottom and 3 inches from each side ) Then you would go to a sign shop and have your letters plotted out to your dimensions, or go to a craft store and buy pre made vinyl letters and space them appropriately to obtain the size you want.

It is important to remember that when you re on a ladder that it not be windy and your ladder has good footing.
